The Opinionated Pussycat began on New Year's Day, 2010, but Nikita had been blogging for years before that, bringing that experience to this new venture.
In the fall of 2010 his protégé, Elvira Mistress of Felinity, a new addition to the family just that summer, joined him in blogging.
The cats & their human moved to Houston, TX, in Sept. 2012.
Nikita went to Rainbow Bridge in October 2013 and a Tuxedo lady kitten was rescued off the street by Daddy Kiril soon after and taken under her paw by Elvira.
In January 2014 Sneakers the Texian Tuxedo joined her in blogging.
You can see our main collection of links to praise for the blog and Nikita, and for Elvira, and Sneakers, but...
Here is what more reviewers, the world over, are and have been, saying over the years....

SINCE JANUARY 2016:
Sir Winnie Burmillahill (Agnes Repplier Award and Soseki Natsume Prize, winning feline writer) - In a Boxing Day 2016 Interview with the BFBC (British Feline Broadcasting Corporation) he was asked about the feline creative scene in America and replied...
"I am easily satisfied with the very best and, personal difficulties of their human notwithstanding, The Opinionated Pussycats, in America, are among the very best.
These cats, beginning with the much missed Mr. Nikita and continuing with the fine ladies now behind the keyboard, have enemies and that is good. That means that they have stood up for something, several somethings, actually.
They have been and continue to be a prime example, for the writers among us, of the belief that one should never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never - in nothing, great or small, large or petty — never give in except to your creative meowse when it strikes you."
Felinity Magazine - "Opinionated Pussycat, despite tough times for its writers and their human, remains a fine repository of many things feline worth mentioning."
The National Recorder of Feline Literature and Science - "The journalism, poetry and storytelling of The Opinionated Pussycat are innovative and ground-breaking. The stories of Aubry and Houston Hairy are 2 series that only serve to whet the appetite of the curious for more."
Old Felinity Assembled's Almanac - "The Opinionated Pussycat is a family blog, though not what many fans of the pet blog genre are used to. It is outspoken on the issues, devoted to good cat/human relations, but edgy and unique in its poetry, humor, storytelling and photography. It covers foreign and domestic news, commercial interests, feral felinity, rescues, science, art and more in a style all its own."

The Cat Writer: Imagine, Write, Publish says (In its August 2013 edition) - "It took the imagination of a creative, old, Maine Coon, to invent the 100 Word Cat Story. That same cat took his concept to the next level with "Aubrey" a month long story told with 30 such, connected, tales and topped off with the invention of the 200 Word Cat Story as its conclusion. Simply stunning! I am jealous of those who read it as each story came out...MEOW!"
The American Pussycat Review says (In it's Fall 2013 edition) - Feline short story writing is hard to come by....Novels, non-fiction and history, books for human children, healthcare, home decor tomes and more have been around for decades...but an opinionated, 15 yr. old, Maine Coon in Texas, has taken it upon himself to give new life to the form by creating 2 new genres....100 and 200 Word Cat Stories...and to show how it is done with a month long tale called "Aubrey". Purrfectly delightful, suspenseful and moving!
