Good evening felinity assembled, Sneakers the Texian Tuxedo, here.
We hope you are enjoying this series, so far.
Welcome to Day 4 of the Poetry A Day Challenge by Robert Lee Brewer, of the wonderful Poetic Asides Blog, at Writer's Digest.
"For today’s prompt, pick a painter, make him or her the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. Possible painters include Salvador Dali, Frida Kahlo, or Pablo Picasso. Of course, you don’t have to go with the big names. You can use more obscure painters or more contemporary ones."
Remember: These prompts are just springboards; you have the freedom to jump in any direction you want."
(The Day 1 poem, by me, is here)
My first thought was of something Daddy Kiril had made at Knotts Berry Farm, back in December 2011...but it was a drawing, not a painting, darn it!
Anyway, this masterpiece of a caricature was drawn by a remarkably talented young artist named Oscar.
It once graced the sidebar of this blog and may one day do so again.
So, after some thought, and a bit of Googling, I came up with something simple about cats and painters.
Tabby cats can be red
The Charteaux, and The Korat are blue.
No matter the color, it must be said,
A Society of Feline Artists, artist, will likely paint those cats, too!
As described on their fascinating website...
"S.O.F.A. is open to all feline artists working in any media or style and may depict any members of the cat family from the largest wild cats to the smallest domestic cat."
Stay tuned for Part 5!
