All Hallows' Eve and the terminal at Rainbow Bridge is pitch black a half hour before midnight...
Hours earlier quite the rowdy crowd had turned out to welcome others but, now, one would be forgiven if they thought Mr. Nikita sat alone waiting for one more transport to arrive...
All around him feline figures could barely be seen moving in the darkness, the low rumble of mass purring could be heard.
Suddenly Nikita became alert at the sound of the approaching transport pulling up...
As the door opened and a beautiful, groggy, black feline stepped forward, Nikita flicked his tail and the room became illuminated by the light from hundreds of opened feline eyes and the purring gave way to a chorus of welcoming meows....
One could be forgiven for thinking that every black cat at Rainbow Bridge was present.
Nikita stepped forward as the feline gazed about her, a look of wonder on her face...
"Miss Luna, beautiful promoter of felinity and music, welcome to the Bridge....come, let's get you situated. All will be made clear to you in due time and old friends of yours wish to join us in welcoming you."

Welcome to a special edition of the Feline News Network...
Dear felinity assembled, it is with a heavy heart that I come to you with very sad news....
Miss Luna, of CatSynth, has made her journey to Rainbow Bridge.
She died peacefully yesterday, Halloween, of cancer, her loving human, Amanda, having made the decision to "keep her happy and comfortable and surrounded by love" as the cancer continued to spread and "over the past week it was clear just how much pain and difficulty she was in".
One final gift of love and caring to a companion of over 11 years.
Amanda's full tribute is here.
Where to begin?
Daddy Kiril remembers the first times he and Nikita encountered CatSynth, Luna and her human.
One such time was when Nikita first hosted Carnival of the Cats, in 2008.
A long time ago, in a lifetime far away, for all of them.
The beauty and grace of Luna so finely complimented the beauty and grace of the instruments her human blogged about and the music and art her human created and shared (the photo above is from 2010).
Her presence complimented perfectly the contributions CatSynth made, as frequent contributor and host, to 3 of the earliest and best of the pet blogging share fests, all about cats, Carnival of the Cats, Weekend Cat Blogging, and Bad Kitty Cats Festival of Chaos, for many years, beginning in the summer of 2007...CatSynth first hosted CoTC with #189.
Music & art shows, travel, photography, cats, synthesizers, sass and grace.
Over at Catsynth Luna was the star! Why wouldn't she be?
Luna always preened for the camera. Boy, did she ever! In a May 2010 survey, when asked whether this gal is gorgeous, yes, or no....the eyes had it....by a wide margin, hee, hee!
She was there for all the growth and change in the life of her human, the past several years, and the bond between them was clear for all to see.
I want to leave you with a link to her video debut, from 2010.
Luna... like Nikita... I, Sneakers and Friday, were honored to call you friend and will miss your presence on the blog of your human.
We are very sorry to hear about dear Luna. It's so sad and we send love and hugs to her special Mom.

How very sad. I know her human must be hurting, but what a wonderful tribute you've written here. I hope it helps make things just a little better.
