Good afternoon, felinity assembled; In case you missed all the excitement...start here.
Thursday night, 10pm...
That's when the moment took place.
Our introduction lasted 1 interesting hour...
The photo above was the first one.
Not a word was spoken between us...
OK, so she's not a hussy, I'll give her that.
Our first chat was revealing. Curiosity almost could have killed this kitten, it seems.
As the little one began to explore her new environment I made it my business to keep a close eye on her....didn't want her to break anything.
Her Laser Eyes of Doom still need a lot of work.
By this point I am getting tired. This must have been how Nikita felt dealing me me.
It has been a stressful last 3 weeks or so, since Nikita went to the Bridge; Hell, I feel like I am neverf going to be allowed to take this cone off!
My butt is healing nicely, but I just feel frustrated by how the cone complicates my eating, drinking, litter box and beauty maintenance routines, not to mention I can't climb to the top of the tower.
It also makes dealing with the kitten rather awkward; Oh, I can hiss up a storm, but the cone makes winding up for a magnificent slap upside the head, if needed, difficult to pull off.
Anyway, that is how Day 1 of our getting to know each other went.
NEXT -- The Meeting: Weekend Edition
When I read how Elvira found you, and what her previous caretakers said... how ridiculous. If they had been real paw parents, they would have come and gotten her, not said something as stupid as let her back out the door so she can play in the street??? (my interpretation)
So very thankful that Sneakers found you.
Love the first conversation Sneakers has with Elvira... I'm on a limited budget too yet all these sweeties come to me for help. How can I turn them away? God will provide fur Sneakers. She found you...
Nikita must have told Sneakers where to find you. When my mother's cat passed away, another kitty walked right into a friend of mine's home, as if she knew exactly where she was going... my friend called me and that's how Katie Kitty Too walked into my life.
Purrz, Katie Kat.

You'd think sneakers would have asked about that 'cone of shame' to quote the movie 'Up'. Ah well. At least she seems to respect her anyway.

It doesn't sound too bad! And maybe the cone is a blessing in disguise, Elvira - it is making you get to know Sneakers and not jumping to any rash conclusions.
