In March 2012 A representative from the Mr. Chewy website approached us with an offer to review products and hold a contest for our readers.
Mr. Chewy sells over 70 brands of Dog and Cat food, & treats, plus Cat litter, Flea & Tick fighting treatments, and Potty Pads.
In our original post we did a thorough discussion of the website, and we can now add that they also have a varied and informative blog that began in April 2012 and its latest entry appears to have been in November. Hopefully they will revive it someday.
Cat related posts, by Amy Shojai, appeared from June through October.
Mr. Chewy is also creating a shelter and rescue network designed to support non-profit organizations that help animals in need.
Their network is open to all registered non-profit organizations that specialize in assisting pets in need.
Andrew Bosch, Blogger Network Manager, was promoting a July product review opportunity so I emailed him, rather late in the month, about our interest in one of the products offered for review.
We told Daddy Kiril to surprise us and so we were surprised when a small box arrived in the mail and we opened it up to find a 2 1/4 oz. size box of the Nature's Valley Instinct Raw Boost Minis Chicken Formula Treats.
These are described as "Freeze Dried Treats for Your Playful Carnivore." They are "all natural", made with real chicken and turkey, as opposed to fake chicken like Foghorn Leghorn, or Super Chicken.
That's not all the story, though, as the box explains that the treats don't contain such things as wheat, corn, soy, grain, gluten, artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.
With only 2 calories a peice, these large treats also have various, fruits, veggies and spices, adding up to plenty of protein, designed to help a girl like Elvira keep her figure and the guys to stay strong and healthy. They are 100% freeze dried raw as well.
Elvira took to them with gusto, while I had my initial doubts.
I decided to check out the Nature's Variety website for any educational material and found plenty of helpful information on their "learning center" pages as well as the Instinct brand and its own education pages about raw food diets.
They claim to be a leader in the raw frozen diets corner of the pet food market.
So, I was convinced to give it a try.
No, I didn't swoon, like Elvira, but I did find it good enough for my discriminating palate. :-D

We've had those before and agree with Elvira - they are VERY tasty!
