When Daddy Kiril returned from the Blog Paws convention we discovered that the contents of his Swag Bag had gone mostly to the Dogs. :-D
We decided to donate all the dog stuff and many of the cat items to a shelter in Houston.
Today, daddy took the bag to the Houston SPCA, the location of which he discovered while out and about on his bike a few days ago.
He had stopped in to check the place out and ask if they would accept such a donation. The lady he chatted with and gave our card to said they would so a return trip was planned and pulled off this evening.
It is located off Katy rd., down a side street called Portway, at the corner of a street called Portwest.
The building is huge and hard to miss, with a huge parking lot.
The cat adoption section, where the humans can see and interact with the cats looking for their forever home is huge and clean looking and had plenty of eager adoptees to look over.
The SPCA website has a lot of information and resources.
It was founded in 1924 and is Houston’s first and largest animal protection organization and shelter.
They have a spay/neuter clinic, a cruelty investigations dept., a disaster relief page, a lost and found page, a humane education page, a PetSafe program, a pet loss support group, an animal behavior program and it operates Houston’s only 24-hour injured stray animal rescue program.
We have added a link to them on one of our resource pages alongside a growing list of other outfits we are discovering in Houston and Harris County, some with a sole focus on cats.
That is cool that you donated the swag. My human just handed the bag back to Registration and said she did not want it 'cause there was too much dog stuff!
