Good evening Felinity Assembled, Elvira Mistress of Felinity, here.
Nikita’s take on our journey, up to our separation, is pretty much accurate.
Yes, I put up a fuss over the harness, but once it was on and I was in the carrier, I settled down to await developments.
Part one is here. :-D
On the Super Shuttle ride my view was no better than Nikita’s, even though I was on a seat next to Daddy. The other 5 passengers were all speaking in Spanish so I couldn’t even eavesdrop.
Where’s the fun in that? :-D
After we parted company with Nikita we got in line for the x-ray and what Daddy said might be a pat down. Being a lady I was concerned over that last part. I didn’t mind being patted, but if they got too fresh with me my claws might have got Daddy and I in big trouble! :-D
As it turned out Daddy had to empty his pockets, then attach the leash to my harness and carry me through the x-ray and that was it!
Easy, peasy, piece of cake! :-D
I behaved myself and smiled at all the nice TSA people and didn’t even grumble when Daddy was told I should keep the harness on because they didn’t know what Dallas airport would be like.
As we headed to where we waited for our plane, Daddy made a stop in the human bathroom for men. He instructed me to avert my eyes but, well, let’s just say that that old saying about curiosity being unhealthy for felines is, in my opinion, a bunch of malarkey and leave it at that. :-D
We met more people curious about me and the flattery was thick and fast.
Once on the plane Daddy stuck me under a seat and, with the lights in the cabin on low there was no point in staying awake so I let the sedative do its thing and snoozed all the way to Dallas.
Once at Dallas I awoke again after Daddy made another pit stop, and we got on this cool tram to our terminal and Daddy too the harness off at last.
Maybe it was the sedative, my nervousness and curiosity, or something, but I didn’t pee until we got to the apartment, I’m proud to say!
Also, in Dallas, a nice man took our photo!
On the trip to Houston I again found myself under a seat with nothing to do but nap.
I couldn’t even see the sunrise, or get a cool first look at Houston, from the air, until later when Daddy showed us the photos.
Once at Hobby airport, in Houston, we sallied forth in search of Nikita and Daddy’s luggage. We were worried he might be halfway to Boston, but found him and the luggage waiting for us right where they were supposed to be. I was sure glad to see Nikita and he was glad to see us.
Daddy asked the TSA ladies to take a nice photo of us and it turned out OK.
On the Super Shuttle ride to our new home we were the only passengers and Nikita, again, was in back, while I rode next to Daddy. Our views were no
better this time than the trip in CA.
Next, up, we are introduced to our new home! :-D
My human has been to the DFW airport, and it is massive! I'm glad everyone, kitty and human, made their connections and landed in Houston safely!
