Let's see you say that 3 times fast! ;-D
The odd looking Feline was discovered by a couple in Tuna, PA on Sunday.
“We have bird feeders out in our yard, and Feral Cats are constantly into them, upsetting them no end,” Connie, the woman told ru4reel.com. “My husband traps them and then sets them free elsewhere so they don’t find their way back here.”
She said she had seen the Cat on the property before, but no one would believe her.
“I kept telling my husband I saw a purple Cat out in the yard. ‘Oh sure you did’ he kept telling me,” she added. “Well, he checked the trap around noon on Sunday and sure enough, there it was.”
The couple plans to release the Cat back into the wild in the next few days. As for why she is purple, they don’t know. But they swear they had nothing to do with it.
The ru4reel team has some theories, though, ranging from her getting into paint to even falling into a port-a-potty, in nearby Sage Park, where a Feral Colony has set up an occupation.
This isn’t the first time a purple Cat has baffled the world.
Another one was discovered in 2008 in the U.K. At the time, the Telegraph cited an expert, a Mr. Wuudler, who thought the Feline had gotten into some old printer cartridges and had groomed the color into its fur, women Cats being particular sticklers for always looking their best.
He believed, back then, the Cat would eventually shed the funky hue as her hair fell out and new hair grew back.
Have a theory? Let us know in the comments.
By the way, the pictures in the story, below, come from the Facebook page for the Cat.
She even has a Twitter account, it seems.
Holy Cat! A PURPLE kitteh?
We'd love to see that. :)
