Good evening Felinity Assembled! {{{{ 130am UPDATE! See Below!!! }}}}
As regular readers know Daddy often reports on places, and events, that he covers, on behalf of this blog, because neither I, nor Elvira Mistress of Felinity, can accompany him.
After some thought we decided that we should have a Category Archive for such reports, and that is how we came up with Daddy Kiril At Large.
Any similarity between Daddy, & a certain Investigative Journalist, who shall remain nameless, is only in the fact that they both have mustaches. :-D
So, without further ado, heres Daddy!
To be sponsored to attend this event, and walk the red carpet, is a great honor, and a very humbling thing to contemplate. After all I am just the Official Research assisitant, Photographer, Liaison, Provider, Playmate, Belly Rubber, & Litter Box Cleaner, for the 2 remarkable Felines who write this blog, one of whom has been a blogger, like me, for 9 years now. :-D The 3 of us can't thank Hartz enough for the honor. As I prepared to attend, I wanted to represent not just this blog, but The Cat Blogging Community, and Orange County, in the best possible light. I will be meeting a lot of new people, tonite, some representing their own blogging Cats, and others within various related businesses, and industries, many of whom have never even heard of Meowsings of an Opinionated Pussycat before. What the future holds may be obscured, but I look forward to a bright one, and hope that the events of this night will be just a first step down a new path. The first thing I had to do was dress right! So I got a new pair of suspenders, appropriate for the occasion, and many more such occasions to come. :-D Good evening, friends, as you read this it is after 6pm PST, and I will be at the historic Orpheum Theatre, in Downtown Los Angeles, attending a charity event to raise money for Kitty Bungalow Charm School For Wayward Cats.
Next, I needed to create a truly professional card, full color, front & back, to properly represent, and promote Meowsings.
I went over to a Fedex Office, in Huntington Beach and, using their computer program, chose from among several Cat Themed templates.
Once that was done I was able to choose just what I wanted on the card, and where to place that information to best advantage.
When the final product arrived at my home, and I held the beautiful Little Darling in my hands, it was an emotional moment.
I felt like I was holding one of the keys to my future in my hands, something that could open doors I could only dream about entering, before this month.
Next, I needed a name badge, but not just any name badge, something unique, and appropriate to promoting the premier Cat Blog in Orange County, Ca.!
I went online looking for someplace close that could get a badge made in less than a week, and found a place that had a Paw shaped design!
Buena Park Plaque & Trophy, on Beach Blvd. did a wonderful job, way beyond my expectations.
When I mentioned to a Mr. Brian Wurgler that I had hopes of a Cat Theme for my Badge, he told me they could do something, and that is how a 3 Dangle Badge became a 4 Dangle Badge. :-D
When I saw his idea on the computer I knew it was absolutely perfect!
When I picked the finished product up, on Thursday, and held it in my hands, I got all emotional again.
With a magnet on the back, to stick it to my shirt, I proudly headed home.
Along the way I encountered many people on the bus looking at me and, at one point, and near totally blind woman, leaned over because she wanted to have a closer look.
She was a Dog person, but her sister, she said, was a Cat Person, so I told her about the blog.
Everything was set, at last, and all that needed to be done was figure out my bus schedules, especially for after the AfterPawty, which ends at Midnight.
I will get to LA in time for my only meal of the day before the shindig and, in order to not sit alone, in the dark, in downtown Long Beach, for 3 hours until the first bus comes, I will make my 2nd ever visit to a very popular restaurant in Hollywood, for a very early breakfast, on Sunday morning.
Nikita, & Elvira, will have ate before I leave, but no doubt will be very happy (& Hungry!) to see me when I eventually get home Sunday morning. :-D
****130AM Sunday Update****
Kitties, I'm Home! :-D
Thanks to a ride home from Baby Patches Mom I got home 6 hours earlier than planned for. :-D
Elvira Mistress of Felinity was soooo glad to see me that, in the darkenss, as I opened the door, she slipped out on the walkway!
I didn't know this, of course, and when she hadn't peeked out from under the bed, where I assumed she was, I went searching, flashlight in hand, through the apartment, Nikita looking at me as if I was nuts.
Just when I was wondering if she's somehome got out the door when I left in the morning, I heard a loud (Well, OK, loud for Elvira) Meow outside the door.
When I opened the door a little Tortie Blur set a speed record getting safely indoors.
I immediately grabbed her up, and hugged the hell out of her, emotionally scolding her for scaring the hell out of me.
She just purred away, and Nikita looked at me, saying, "Jeez, Daddy, all you needed to do was ask, and I'd have told you what the silly girl had done." :-D
Needless to say I fed the Cats, and plan to hit the hay for as long as Nikita will let me (He has this thing about 530am wake-up calls.).
Anyway, it has been a long, amazing, wonderful, remarkable, evening and meeting Cokie Mom, Baby Patches Mom, several other Bloggers, and a nice lady, with no blog, or website, named Dee, who deals with the Ferals in her community, barely scratches the surface of what I experienced.
There are pictures, and more (Which I may never see, but hope to, with luck), and after I rest, and recover, the story of this night will be told, I promise. :-D
I can't thank Hartz enough for sponsoring me to attend this event, and hope that I did them proud.
