Hello, Honey, Elvira Mistress of Felinity here.
I'm more than just a great looking Pussycat, I'll have you know!
Bold, Fresh, and the most delightful Pussy in the world!
You can call me Mistress Elvira, for short, just don't call me late for dinner, treats, a nap, or a snooze!
Welcome to The Elvira Factor!
You are about to enter the No Bull Zone!
Grab your tails, Felinity Assembled, it's going to be a bumpy ride! ;-D
(You missed the debut? Shame on you! ;-D )
Now for the Meowing Points Memo:
There is, here in Orange County, a glossy monthly, called the OC Metro that bills itself a magazine about "Business, People, & Life".
The fact that Cats are not the 4th area of interest for this publication should have tipped me off, but I read the magazine, anyway, when Daddy brought it home.
The March issue cover story rankled my fur, the same way that the OC Weekly did last month.
The OC Metro Editor, Tina Borgatta, in explaining the purpose of this months "20 Women to Watch (Online Ed. of the Magazine)" cover, says it was to "introduce you to 20 women who all perservered through their own unique challenges."
"Their stories are inspiring", she says.
The fact that she, or the writer of the article, William Lobdell, did not include me among Orange County's most dynamic females is a hard pill to swallow, and you know how we Cats can be around pills. ;-D
I know I've only lived with Daddy, & Nikita, since July, & didn't complete my early education until the end of November, but I've begun to really strut my stuff, and make a name for myself since the new year began.
Daddy says that I "flew under their radar" because they probably did their interviews, & research, while I was still a Kitten, before Chrissymouse.
Sigh...If he says so...
Anyway, I'm going to use the rest of this post to answer some of the very same questions they asked their 20 choices.
Tina Borgatta, and William Lobdell, are my Knuckleheads of the Week, for not considering me, and here's why:
AGE = 1
FAMILY = None that I remember. Adopted, off the street by Daddy Kiril & Nikita, my mentor.
1st JOB = Survival.
WORST JOB = Getting a String out my Behind at the Vet.
BIGGEST BREAK = Being rescued by Daddy Kiril, & Nikita, & being welcomed into my Forever Home.
SECRET TO YOUR SUCCESS = My vivacious beauty, feisty personality with tortitude to spare, a willingness to listen & learn, and luck.
ADVICE TO OTHER WOMEN = To Human Women - Adopt a Cat, or 2. ;-D
To Female Felines - Good looks will only get you so far in life so, with only 9 lives to work with, brains are a neccessity.
BEST WHINE FOR THE PRICE = Whining is for Dogs, and incompetent Humans ( Yes, I know, not all Dogs are whiners, but it IS in the genes ;-D ).
BEST TIP FOR THE WHINE NOVICE = I don't give advice to losers.
TIPS FOR MAKING THE BIKINI-BUYING PROCESS LESS SCARY = Grow some fur on your body, Ladies! Those skimpy outfits will not keep you warm at the beach.
GREATEST INVENTION IN HISTORY = The Litter Box, paws down!
WHAT INVENTION DOES THE WORLD REALLY NEED RIGHT NOW? = A Universal Translator so that more Cats, & Humans, could communicate with each other.
Not all Humans are fluent in Felinese, like Daddy. ;-D
BEST WEBSITE OTHER THAN YOUR OWN? = Well, since Daddy's personal blog, & his retired Bike Blog, are inelligible for consideration...I'd have to say The Cat Blogosphere! Feline Journalism Website Extraordinaire!
FAVORITE ALL-TIME BOOK = Guide to a Healthy Cat because Dr. Elaine Wexler-Mitchell runs the Clinic Daddy takes us to, & it's also an informative read for both Cats, & our Humans.
How do you explain what you do at a Cocktail Party? = What's to explain? I'm a Cat.
I write, I blog, it's not that complicated. ;-D
What's a Cocktail Party? If it involves chasing the tails of chickens, & roosters, I'm so there! ;-D
What percentage of your family/friends really understand what you are doing? =
All my, and Nikita's friends understand, appreciate, and encourage, our efforts, as do Daddy's friends.
It's his sisters that have never had an easy time grasping the concept of our blog, or any of his, though one sister appears to be getting wiser with age (She's 43, now!).
BEST MEAL FOR A NOVICE TO MAKE? = Don't try to be something you are not! Stick to store bought, Kibble, or canned, the healthiest, tastiest, you can find for your Cats. ;-D
I plan to write the editor and writer, & if I get a reply, I'll share it. ;-D
And that's the Memo! ;-D
Next up is...My Word!
There is no word, this week, as I was so pre-occupied with this OC Metro thing.
No need to thank me, hee, hee! ;-D
Which brings me to our Patriot, this week. ;-D
There is a British based website called Moggies: Home of the Online Cat Guide.
Begun in 1999, the site is "devoted to the health and well-being of Kittens and Cats everywhere."
The place is a goldmine of stories, links, and resources, that one can easily get lost in for days on end.
Well, that's it for this edition.
Dear reader, your comments about anything you read in this post, or any other, past, present, or future, on this blog, are welcomed, and encouraged.
Thank You, and Good Day! ;-D
I think the article would have been so much better if your interview had been included!
