This evening, shortly after 6pm, daddy was riding his bike through the historic residential/equestrian, neighborhood of Orange Park Acres, on the eastern edge of the city of Orange, a neighborhood of narrow winding streets, horse trails, and properties with lots of space for animals to roam, that was established in 1928.
Elvira here, and Daddy says that Horses are not the only residents, here, who might be considered what he called "High Strung". ;-D
Consider the conversation he overheard as he passed one barnyard in the neighborhood...
The one on the fence continued in an attempt to explain why it was concerned:
"My Great-Grandfather used to tell us bedtime stories about the fearsome Meowslim, man.
He said the Meowslim sleeps all day, and prowls all night!
He said it would get baaad Goats, and Sheep, who didn't behave themselves, and that the only warning one had before it struck its prey was a menacing purr, but by then your fate was sealed..."
The last thing Daddy heard as he pedaled away was this one critter suggesting they go ask "Miss Vivian" to set up the appointment. ;-D
Nikita told me that it might have been a Puma, which is a type of Cat, very big, and very smart!
NOTE: For more from the Daddy Cam see the Archive!
Daddy, like the fictional Dr. Doolittle, understands the words of many critters, and the things he's heard them say, about Cats especially, have always been interesting to us.
Far too many Humans have no clue how often Cats come up in conversations among other animals...now Daddy, and Meowsings, set out to reveal what is going on right under their noses. ;-D

Hi Elvira:
I was looking for a definition of "meowslim" but didn't find it in this post.
How will your readers know what you are talking about?

Amanda...
Think of it maybe as a Feline Chupacabbra. :-D
No one has captured one of those, or seen one either, as far as I know. :-D
