The Cat Blogging Community is a closenit one, whether it's Catster, The Cat Channel, Twitter, Facebook, The Cat Blogosphere, or others I don't even know about.
Concern, and support, is shown in various ways for those Kitties, and their Humans, who may be ill, or injured, and when one dies many grieve for, and with, the families of those who are lost us.
Yesterday was a particularly sad, and trying, day, for The Cat Blogosphere Community as 4 Kitties, including legends of the Cat Blogosphere, were reported to have gone to Rainbow Bridge.
Via The Cat Blogosphere:
1. The Cat Blogosphere is crying.
2. Effurryone, it has been tha saddest days of the Cat Blogosphere.
Sweet Praline & Mom Paula maked an excellent video tribute. (Absolutely Awesome, ans very, very, moving!)
Comments, and e-mails, flew fast, and furious, and even a Chat Room was set up so everyone who cared to, and were able, could come together, and mourn.
Tribute posts sprang up everywhere.
The sad part for many of us is that with so many fine friends blogs to check out, and us, and our Humans leading often busy lives it may have been weeks, or months since we may have visited certain ones, and many we have yet to get to (Hell, I have a backlog of comments to respond to going back to my birthday in March, but it's been a hectic time around here since early May, and likely to get more so the rest of the year!)
1. Fat Eric, a Pleasantly Plump Diabetic, and proud Ginger Cat, in London England, began blogging in January 2006, and it's been a joy for his many friends to get to know him, and the rest of us to stop by for a look see from time to time.
Fat Eric Has Gone To The Rainbow Bridge at age 14.
From the start he loved computers, and was not shy about telling one, and all, why. ;-D
Oh, and he was totally addicted to Greenies. ;-D

2. Daily Dose of Dogs (aka Cats with Your Coffee) is a blog about stories of a private animal rescuer.
Some Cats live long, and happy, lives...many into their 20's, most into their teens, especailly if they live Indoors, but for some life is short, very short.
For the lucky ones that short life is a good one, but for many, who are born on the streets, it is not.
This is the story of one in the 2nd group.
It is a story that moved Daddy, and I, deeply, for obvious reasons...Our rescue of little Elvira Mistress of Pussydom, on July 11th. ( The story of Our little Domestic Drama, begins here...Intruder Alert! Daddy's Found a Kitten! Or Vis a Versa, I don't know! )
This little Kitten was rescued on Sunday, and for 2 days she was cared for, and loved, as she had never been before in her brief life, and her story has impacted all who have read it.
Her name was Wintergreen. But you can call her Winnie.
Well, It Happened . . ., Heartbreak, Tribute to an Angel
Yes, she was in pain, but it is clear that she knew she was in a safe place full of Humans trying to help her, and her behavior clearly showed that she had some understanding of this, remarkable for one so young, and loved them for it.
This blog began in March, and deserves to be read, and supported, by anyone interest in stories about Animal Rescue efforts.
In my sidebar is a Blogroll of "Rescues, Shelters, Societies, Foundations, & Assoc", and Daily Dose of Dogs (aka Cats with Your Coffee) will be added to that list in order to help, in my own small way, to bring attention to its efforts.
3. Luxor was a White Boy (Or Honky, to all you in Rio Linda! Um, hee, hee!), more specifically...an Oriental Shorthair.
My Peculiar Aristocratic Title is "His Highness Luxor the Undulant of New Invention." I am also a "poltergeist sent back in time to change the course of history forever." Believe it.
Luxor was only 6 1/2 years old, and had been blogging since age 2, but due to heart Disease, and other things, had not posted since January.
Despite his health issues the passing of Precious Luxie was unexpected.
A History Lesson (About My Life) - Sept. 2006
4. The Krasota Castle Cats have lost a member of the family.
The blog's chief blogger is Alexi, a Russian Blue Cat who lives with other Russians, a Nebelung and two human staff. ;-D
Krasota Oksana Molly, age 6 1/2, has passed away.
The idea for the blog was born in late 2006, and took a few months to get its bearings, but has been a popular site with posts by a very outspoken Feline. ;-D
Show Cats, and proud parents, too, these Felines win awards, and make friends, everywhere:
We live in South Carolina. The two humans are considered "staff" by us Felines, as it should be.
Our Humans are members of ACFA and TICA ( In the USA, the three major Cat associations are American Cat Fanciers Association (ACFA), Cat Fanciers Association (CFA), and The International Cat Association (TICA) ).
Have you ever thought about what it must be like at Raibow Bridge on a day like yesterday?.........
It is a clear, warm, and sunny, day at Rainbow Bridge (As it always is 365 days a year!), and Cats, and Dogs, are romping around, or just Snoozing, and Napping where ever one looks.
Occasionally one, or more, will look up, attentively, toward the entrance and, suddenly recognizing a human figure, go scampering off to be reunited with a long missed Human Companion who has finally come to spend eternity with him, or her, or them.
On this afternoon a grizzled old orange Cat, known by all as The Old Man (Patiently waiting for the day when he will be re-united with his pupil, and their Human, though he puts on a Gruff Performance that tries, and fails, to hide how happy such re-unions would make him.), makes his presence known to all by announcing that word has come that The Cat Blogosphere has had a very tough day, and that 3 of its community, and one young Rescue Kitten, who they all took to heart, are scheduled to arrive within the hour.
He anounces the names, and asks that word be spread to all who may know these new arrivals so that they can come help with the welcoming....
When the 4 arrivals, puzzled, and curious, make their way thru the entrance area the confusion of the 3 older ones is wiped away when they see old friends, and finally understand where they are, and the reunions are joyous to behold...
For the young kitten confusion remained, and it sat alone, with its head down, waiting for someone to tell it what was what...
The Old Man slowly approached, and said..."Come, little one, I know that your brief life on earth was a difficult one, and there is so much you do not understand, but there are several someones that I want you to meet, and they will help you come to terms with your past, and adjust to life at Rainbow Bridge."
With that he motioned for the little one to follow and turned to go to a nearby field...
As they approached the Kitten saw a large Cat, and several Kittens, and with each step Winnie became aware that they all seemed somehow very familiar, and then, and then....Winnie began to sprint, and to call out "Mommie! Oh, Mommie!", and the big Cat smiled gently down at her, and said..."Yes, dear one, it's Mommie."
If there was anyone there to see it, they would have beheld the slimmest of smiles, and the glint of a tear, in the face of The Old Man....
Oh, dear, just what we didn't need, more tears.
A beautiful post for our departed friends!

I can't stop crying this evening.
ML and KC directed me to the CB - said I should check it out today.
I would have done that by late tonight anyway, but I got some work done and took a peek.
This is one of the most amazing things I have EVER laid eyes on in my life.
You are wonderful to spend your time, and put your lovely thoughts down, about such a gruesome time we've all been through.
Sorrows shared are somehow lessened.
I have received so many beautiful comments.
But this goes above and beyond.
I can't thank you enough.
Because of this, by you putting me in your sidebar, I might begin to get some of the traffic I need to attract an advertiser so I can continue to rescue.
My dream is to build another cathouse - a cat sanctuary, actually.
And a building for the dogs - a place where they can get out of the heat in the summer and out of the cold in the winter.
You have now contributed to that.
THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

What a nice tribute.
Too much sadness for one day.
We feel so bad for their families.

What a wonderful tribute to Eric, Luxor, Molly and Winnie!
So much sadness, so much loss. Our momma has been holding us tighter today, knowing that other families are very sad.
Sending purrs,

A marvelous post to four kitties who left us too soon.

Thank you.
I wasn't close to any of these kitties, but having just lost my best friend kitty girl of 14 years last month, I can empathize and send lots of love and light to these much loved cats and their families.
