Daddy had his Tilt Table Test today!
First the Bad News....
They did not drug him to the gills, or turn him upside down, as he was led to believe. ;-D
He was sorely disappointed. ;-D
The Good News....
They DID fill him with something that made his heart rate go up, and they DID set him, head up, at a 70 degree angle for a while.
In the quest for signs of Neurocardiogenic Syncope (Mimics a Seizure)....
He did not faint, in fact the doc (The Cardio Docs Partner), her hospital assistant, and Daddy, chatted the whole 2 hours.
His results were negative, the test was a completely normal event....
BORRRING. ;-D
He'll have a follow-up meet with the Cardio Doc himself, and will let the Neuro know the results, and see what he thinks.
A couple of weeks back he met with the Neuro, who said that there was no sign that his brain was the source of the Seizure.
Daddy will probably stay on the Anti-Seizure Med until the end of the year, as a precaution.
The idea is that over the last 2 months of the year the regular dosage will be gradully reduced to nothing.
1 event is worth looking into, 2 events is a trend, and of serious concern, so if he has another episode, in the next 5 months, he will let the Neuro know asap.
Maybe he just had a 1 time fatigue, and stress induced, faint, and no real seizure at all?
Good news from the tilting table test.
Fingers crossed it was just a one off blip.
Purrs to you and Elvira xx xx

We're sorry your Dad was disappointed in the tilt table...they never did that to our Daddy.
Our Daddy never found out why he had his seizure.
The doctor said he had a 50/50 chance of another one if he goes off the meds, so he is staying on them.

I am keeping my paws crossed that all future tests will be just as boring.
When it comes to this medical stuff, boring is good!

Boring is a good thing.
Mom calls it contentment.
