Boy, what a day! What a last 3 days!
There has been so much going on, and so much to think about, and plan for, that both my head, and Daddy's, are seemingly about to burst! ;-D
We have yet to meet face to face, but based on our chats, thru the door, I am beginning to think I just might like the new kid, or at least tolerate it, hee, hee! ;-D
One can never know for sure until you hang out together, and I've only had 2 experieces with that, one as a Kitten living a few short months with my wise old mentor, and later with dear, Feral, Maximus for a bit longer.
In case you missed all the excitement...here is the story so far:
Intruder Alert! Daddy's Found a Kitten! Or Vis a Versa, I don't know! ;-D
The day began with Daddy putting on his special shirt, tossing the youngster in the carrier, and heading out the door, around 9am.
Looks pretty calm doesn't it? ;-D
Daddy said that the Kitten was an immediate hit on the trip to the Vet, from the first bus stop to the moment they entered the door at the clinic. ;-D
The Kitten was well behaved, and curious, only voicing an opinion a few times along the way.
Daddy said several Humans asked about the Kitten, and thought it was cute. ;-D
At one stop a man was kind enough to take this picture of Daddy, and the Kitten, sitting on a bus bench in Anaheim.
Daddy was as prepared as he could be, even bringing cash to pay, based on the estimate he'd been given on Monday.
Arriving at the clinic he chatted with a couple of women waiting with their Cats, including one who had posted a flier at the clinic about a Cat she was putting up for adoption.
He gave her one of my fliers, told her about the Online Feline Community, and would have told her about the adoption, and shelter resources, in my sidebar, but was called in for his appointment.
I hope she stops by for a look see. ;-D
Daddy was sitting in the examining room, waiting as they took the Kitten in for Viral Tests, and I'll let him explain what happened next:
"As I sat there I heard a Cat loudly being a Potty Mouth, and my first thought was, wow, where did that one learn such words? ;-D
My second thought was...I hope that wasn't MY Kitty! ;-D
Happily it turned out not to be. ;-D
The technician said the Little One was very well behaved."
Daddy was told that the Viral Tests were all negative and, as he watch the Kitten was given a hands on exam.
The Official Hoo Haw Inspection confirmed what everyone has been telling us...There will be a Woman moving into our happy Bachelor Domesticity. ;-D
And Daddy will obviously need a new T-Shirt, as you can see! ;-D
(He's a regular Medical Miracle, that man, I tell you! At least that's what some misguided souls must think upon first spotting the shirt, um, hee, hee!)
She had Fleas, but her Abdomen, Chest, Heart, Lungs, and Ears, were all OK, and she had no Microchip.
The best estimate of the Docs is that she is 5 months old, so that means a February Birthday.
She weighs in at 5 lbs. 7 oz., has all her claws, and needs to be fixed next month.
The Cat Care Clinic has long been my vet, and we trust their judgement, and they have treated me very well indeed.
The Cat Care Clinic is a full service veterinary hospital and outpatient facility designed exclusively for the treatment of Cats.
Dr. Elaine Wexler-Mitchell, highly respected Vet, Columnist, and Cat Care Book Author (See my Amazon Ad for her book, which Daddy owns.), founded the practice in 1991, and it is located in Orange, Ca.
The Little One got her first shots, a Profender De-Worm treatment, and a dose of Advantage for the Free-Loaders (Daddy put it on me, as well, when he got home, in case some of hers hiked over to me, hee, hee!).
Daddy spent $238.19, $100 more than estimated mostly because he needed to get the Advantage pack for us.
The Booster Shots, and Spay, in a month, will cost him either $237.75, or $314.62, depending on whether Blood work is done for safety sake to be sure she can take Anesthesia, a test they recommend.
And those are just estimates, of course.
Daddy will soon have to confirm with the Apartment Management the extra $50 a month rent, and whether they will try to get another $400 Pet Deposit out of him.
Once they returned home Daddy went to Walmart to buy some stuff to help us Kitten Proof the apartment.
With our Bachelor Pad about to be invaded by a Woman it was incumbent upon us to do some organizing, and moving of things around. ;-D
Oh, and one more thing...The Intruder now has a name. ;-D
I guess that means the first step has been taken to officially welcome her into the fold.
All that remains is our first Official Meeting and, if we don't kill each other, beginning the process of getting used to, and getting to know, each other. ;-D
I will soon Formally Introduce her, by name, share what little any of us know of her backstory and, if all goes well, the post after that will tell of our introduction, even if Daddy has to be the one to post the report. ;-D
What a great post.
So much fun to watch this teeny little girl turning your lives upside down.
We had no idea she was that old, either.
Can't wait for the introduction between Miss Tortie and Professor Nikita.
She is really lucky to have such a cool older brofur.
Love & Purrs,
KC

It's always exciting when a new kitty comes home - and I'm glad to know that in your case, it's exciting in a good way! She looks like a cute girl - I cannot call her "little" because at 5 months, she weighs nearly as much as I do! I'm looking forward to hearing more about her.

Kiril and Nikita, that little baby is HOME where she belongs.
She has love, and food, and fresh water, and her own litter box, and her own toys.
She is safe indoors, protected, and out of harm's way for the first time in her life.
She is relaxing, no longer fearful of being thrown out on the streets.
She has received what appears to be the first health care ever in her short life.
She will be neutered in a few weeks, and not forced to have endless litters of kittens.
She is HOME.
The first time you picked her up, and held her, you said she wouldn't stop purring.
You are her Daddy now.
And she knows that.
She is not going anywhere!!!
I promise you.

Aaahhh!!! Name, name, name!!!!!
Glad she had a good vet check, if it was only fleas that's pretty good.
No ear mites, etc. Hurrah!
What a doll she is. Just precious!
We agree with ML: She's home!!!

Glad the young lady cat got a clean bill of health - hope you have a sympathetic bank manager!!
Do you realise Nikita and Dad that female kitties have quite extravagant things on their wish lists??
We agree with ML, we don't think she'll be moving on - besides she can teach you two men a thing or two - ha ha.
Luv Hannah, Lucy and Mum Sue xx xx xx
PS: Looking forward to learning her name.

How exciting!
I've missed visiting because of my Mom's surgery, so I didn't realize you had a new one in the house.

It sure has been busy at your house.
Harry knows the feeling about Girls invading his space.
