Welcome to Carnival of the Cats #317!
The Carnival of the Cats is a weekly roundup of cat-related posts on weblogs, in America, and around the world, who choose to submit a post for inclusion.
For us Cat Bloggers the Carnival is a chance to discover blogs we might never have heard of, on subjects of all kinds, and you can learn more about the carnival, and how to participate, here.
Due to technical difficulties with the Official Carnival Submission System, the submissions were very, very late in arriving where I, as host, could read them!
Daddy has his suspicions about who might be behind this disruption.
Since Saturday he has been visiting a local hiking, and biking, trail, here in Santa Ana, for a month long series of posts on his blog, with pictures galore, though no Cats have been seen, for me, as of yet.
Can You Sit in the Same Spot for 20 min., for 30 Days Straight?
Along one section of the trail, the other day, he encountered 20 Squirrels, brazen, and unafraid, scampering about under picnic tables, and behind the mens, and womens, restrooms! (I always knew Squirrels were screwy, but PERVERTED? Who knew?)
They moved so quickly, and with such purpose, that all but one of his 14 pictures were unusable, and that one proved quite interesting as the 2 Squirrels you see kept real close to the rocks, and 2 paths, one toward the creekbed, and one toward the bushes (Down which a 3rd Squirrel dashed, no doubt to alert their comrades!), as they watched every move Daddy made.
Were they responsible for the e-mail issues? Who knows? But the behavior of these critters, the moment Daddy happened upon their activities, is mighty suspicious if you ask me.
It certainly wasn't any of the many Ducks he saw today, that's for sure! Those were responsible critters trying to raise their children!
Anyway...On with the show! ;-D
1. Karen, of the blog The Art of Doing Stuff, learned recently that her Cat had pimples, and her vet told her that "Cats should never eat out of plastic food dishes because they harbour bacteria."
Daddy, and I never knew this either, until recently, and so, like her, we switched.
Her post shares images of Ernies new dishes, and Ernie himself.
2. Allan Thinks, so that's why that is the name of his blog, and he thought he would share an absolutely beautiful picture of Luci, his Black Cat!
3. OK, gang, some of our most important secrets, as a species, are that there are certain scents, oils, and plants, that we just don't like, so we need to be alert, especially all you outdoor types, for those situations where some Human uses their knowledge of those secrets against us!
Did you know that there are places online where Humans can learn those secrets, and the proper way to use them?
Yup, it's time for Meowsings inaugural COB Alert!
Linda, of Natural Health Ezine, has let the, um, Cat Out of the Bag about the efforts of her site to educate its readers ("We all love our little kitties, but sometimes if a stray cat is
destroying your yard, you need a way to keep them out without harming them....).
4. and 5. Speaking of beautiful pics of Black Cats...The gang over at This, That & The Other Thing reveal the clever hiding place of Munchkin (Here, too!)!
6. Rahel, of the blog Elms in the Yard shares a great photo of a Cat she met while on a tour in Jerusalem, and tips on how to properly offer water to a Pussy. ;-D
7. And since we can never have enough cool pics of Black Cats, over at CatSynth...Luna gets vertical!
8. Over at Strange Ranger, John shows enthusiam for various flowers, and what does his Cat think about all this? Hee, hee! ;-D
9. Sniffie and the Florida Furkids, of Friends Furever Blog, provide evidence that Tamir's eyes match the table cloth!
10. Over at Life From a Cat's Pespective...Samantha, and Clementine, let their fur down, and get silly in a series of fun pictures. ;-D
11. and 12. Over at Mind of Mog Meowza is caught relaxing, and nosing around in the Human Bathroom.
13. One more Black Cat story, and this one is heroic! Over at Missy, KC, & Bear, Smokey save the day!
14. and 15. As for me...I've got 2 contributions:
Daddy is Going to College at the Cat Channel!
Neither rain nor sleet nor pesky squirrels.... isn't that tha Carnival of The Cats Motto?
Anyways, this was worf tha wait.
Love & Purrs,
KC
