Last Saturday Daddy spent all day down in San Clemente, Ca. meeting a friend, and another man, and walking the beach.
He saw all sorts strange things, from Humans who can float on the top of the water, at the famous Trestles Beach, and lots of half naked Humans being walked by their Dogs, to well, let me show you!
Daddy, and his companions, were walking along a part of the San Clemente Beach Trail that is next to a long, narrow, concrete drainage, and one of them happened to look into the ditch, and saw a fat, and sassy, Cat wrassling a lizard caught in its jaws!
Feral? Just spending the day at the beach before heading back home?
The Cat never said. ;-D
Daddy assurred me that the Cat was clearly winning the fight...until they showed up, and distracted it.
That's why the Cat is so interested in the weeds, and mud. ;-D
The lizard, seeing its chance, broke off its tail, leaped onto the ground, and immediately hauled ass (Well, actually its ass just remained behind the Cat, wiggling in terror, until it tired itself out.) into that mess of mud, and weeds!
The Cat took a moment to glare, angrily, up at the Humans...
Before returning its focus to trying to recapture, and resume, its interrupted lunch. ;-D
It KNEW the Lizard was in there, damn it, and couldn't, for all its 9 Lives, understand why lunch refused to be served!
Daddy said it was obvious the Cat felt this was very inconsiderate of the Lizard. ;-D
The Cat eventually got over its annoyance with Daddy, and his companions, and stopped searching for lunch...
Long enough to play an energetic game of Whack a Branch. ;-D
The last time they saw the Cat it had resumed the hunt, and may even still be there trying to persuade the Lizard to surrender to the innevitable. ;-D
Daddy, and his companions continued on their way until suddenly Daddy looked up at a nearby sandstone cliff, and was stunned at what he saw!
A Cat!!!
Do YOU see it?
Here, let me help you, with a different view. ;-D
Daddy told me it had been a half hour since he'd had 2 cups of coffee with dollops from that jug of Original Ryan's Irish Style Cream Liqueur, made with imported Irish Whiskey and sweet fresh cream, and was nowhere near being tipsy when these pictures were taken.
He knows what he sees, and so do I, even if it doesn't have whiskers.
Some might say it's a Dog, but I, too, see a Cat, and I have not been near my Boogie Mat, and its Catnip, for 2 weeks. ;-D
NOTE: For more from the Daddy Cam see the Archive! - Street Seens: Cats Outdoors, Thru the Daddy Cam.
I was there.
That's how it really happened.
That Cat had a lizard in its mouth.
But when my buddy distracted him only for a moment, the lizard bolted into some weeds-- though without his tail.
It sure is amazing.. just how many ways you can use "weed." ;-D
