Fantastic post, Nikita!

Thanks for spreading the news about the importance of spaying and neutering.

Nikita this is a tremendous post!

June's comment in answer to the anti-neuter fool is perfect and persuasive.

I would challenge any anti spay/neuter human to watch elderly cats and kittens take up to 40 minutes to die in a gas chamber and still be convinced that spay/neuter is not the most effective way of avoiding this barbaric tragedy that is the wholesale slaughter of animals who no one wants.

In the UK we don't have a national day for spay/neuter.

I wish we did.

The RSPCA and Cats Protection do offer vouchers to those on low incomes to enable them to get their pets neutered which is good work, but it isn't anywhere near enough.

They don't run advertising campaigns on this subject either.

The RSPCA spends a fortune on Christmas television commercials asking for money to help them deal with cruelty and abandonment.

I think at least half of their funds ought to be put aside for funding spay/neuter campaigns. Our govt could help by matching the funds 50:50.

Both of these charitable organisations have millions and millions of pounds sitting in banks doing nothing but earning interest. The money could save lives and stop suffering, but STILL they don't use it for that purpose.

Both organisations have an army of volunteers (paid nothing) and staff in higher echelons who get sizey salaries.

It's just all wrong.... pffft!

Opinionatedly yours
