Daddy is the Family Genealogist, and thus I've become interested in Feline, or Cat, Genealogy stories over the years.
5 years ago scientists sequenced the genome of the domestic cat (Felis catus), an advance they claim could lead to health benefits for all us Felines, as well as Humans.
A four-year-old Abyssinian cat named Cinnamon, whose lineage can be traced back several generations to Sweden, was the subject of the genome sequencing by scientists with the Cat Genome Project, based at the U.S. National Cancer Institute. The project was authorized by the U.S. National Human Genome Research Institute.
Some Abyssinians, the world over, have been reported to be insufferably full of themselves ever since this news broke in 2007. ;-D
Partial Cat Genome Sequenced, May Aid Human Medicine.
SO when the cat genome project will be completed, we expect that it will help better health care for cats.

Those are really great news!
I have a cat, and I feel very connected to those animals.
