A 100 Word Cat Story 6: The Author

THE AUTHOR

The idea came to him as he was playing with his Nip Blankie, and just wouldn't go away.

He needed to write an instruction manual for Daddy, something that would make everything about their living together so much easier.

Like how best to obey, and fulfill his most simple wishes.

A detailed primer on his philosophy of life!

How best to help maintain his blog, and find important, relevant, things to blog about...

But, then, Daddy came, and picked up the Blankie.

Soon he couldn't remember this brilliant idea that came to him, so settled down for a nap instead.

A 100 Word Cat Story 5: New Year's Resolution

As regular readers know Elvira Mistress of Felinity, and I, write poetry, and stories.

In June of 2010 I wrote my first 100 Word Cat Story, and in Sept. 2010 Elvira wrote HER very first one. ;-D

I've previously written 4, and she has written 2.

We were inspired by The 100 Word Story Series hosted each week, by it's brainchild, the one and only Laurence Simon, Catblogger, Founder of Carnival of the Cats, podcaster, and short-short story writer extraordinaire

Anyway I am back with a new story, and both of us plan to write more as the new year begins.

Maybe even have our own Weekly, or Bi-Weekly, 100 Word Cat Story Challenge if enough Cats show interest.

That's where this entry comes in...I want to gage interest.

It's been a few years since I tried getting Felinity Assembled interested in writing Poetry, with little success, but we don't plan on giving up. :-D

Here is my story...

New Year's Resolution

Leonidas sat on his window perch, gazing thoughtfully at the plot in the yard where generations of his ancestors were buried.

His Human's family had lived here for 300 years, and Felines had lived here almost from the start.

A long line of Mousers, male, and female, all  Purebred Maine Coons, all except for George the 3rd.

George was part, well, no-one remembers now, and it's not important.

It was July 4th, 1876, and George had resolved to not catch Mice anymore, prefering to find something else requiring less effort on his part to catch.

Poor George chose the Cow.

A 100 Word Cat Story 4: Investigation

Good evening Felinity Assembled!

As everyone knows we had a visitor Saturday night, & Sunday morning.

He would have stayed a 2nd night, but  accepted a business opportunity presented to him at the health convention he & Daddy went to, yesterday, so spent his final night & this morning, elsewhere.

Just as well, or Elvira, & I, might have ate him, hee, hee! ;-D

More on that later, but a teaser tonite. ;-D

I wrote this one, and I call it....INVESTIGATION

 

Two Cats found themselves with  a "Foot Whisperer" in their home.

 At least that's what Daddy said he was.

They didn't know what that meant, but they WERE curious, deciding to investigate.

The older Cat refused to duck, & run, even when a pair of weird shoes were placed in front of him.

Maybe they were what made the mans' feet whisper?

The younger Cat? She was distracted into playing with a cord dangling from his camera.

At night, while he slept, they crept close.

While he licked an elbow, she licked a foot.

No whispers.

Tastes almost like Tuna!

The Hooters Pussy: A 100 Word Cat Story by Elvira

She looked at the building, saying to herself, "I wanna be a Hooters Pussy when I grow up!"

I'm smart, cute, saucy, and vivacious!

I've got 6 Tits, all MINE, none enhanced!

I love meeting Humans, especially kids.

I'm a decent lap sitter, and working on my vocals so not to squeak.

I contribute to the Blogosphere, Daddy, and my mentor, say so!

It would be a hoot wearing that owl on a collar, or sweater, and I could promote Bass Fishing by posing, real cute, with a Fish in my mouth!

Hooters makes everyone happy, and I'm all about happy!

My one wish for my birthday is as plain as it can be!

Gee, I wish I was

Daddy, & Nikita, have taught me well in a lot of things, not just passing on their sense of humor, hee, hee!

I did an investigation! All on my own!

Hooters, & The Hooters Girls, do things to help Cats, & Dogs, in need!

It's true, see...

Nov. 2008: Hooters joins Nooters (For the first time!), & Heaven Can Wait Sanctuary, to promote Pet Spay & Neuter, at Happy Paws Pet Expo, in Las Vegas.

Sept. 2009: HOOTERS for NOOTERS special event for men - a collaboration between three organizations: the Hooters Restaurant chain, the Nooters Club and the C-Snip spay and neuter clinic in Michigan.

Nov. 2010: Hooters Fundraising Event ( Hooters for Neuters - Real Men Neuter Their Best Friends! ) Focuses on Spay/Neuter, in North Carolina, as a way to raise money for the Gastonia Animal League.

Elvira Explains Herself: A 100 Word Cat Story

 

Hello my name is Elvira.

Nikita thought I could practice my language, and computer skills, and explain myself at the same time.

 

He says this was not how he would have liked for me to make my 1st post, but I've no-one to blame but myself.

I'm sorry to cause so much worry, but sometimes my curiosity gets the better of me!

 

I like to dash up, and down, the Tower, my claws clutching, and grabbing, as  I go!

The shiny string looked so yummy, I couldn't resist nibbling it!

 

Now, no more Tower!

I'll miss it.

So Much for The Best Laid Plans of Cats, and Humans

Such a busy summer!

Drama, comedy, and excitement, everywhere ya look in this place, I swear.

And that's just when Elvira, & I, interact. ;-D

Anyway, there have been several sides to this blog that have been neglected, of late, and I want to remind readers about them, and promise that they have not been forgottten.

1. I DO intend to try these Poetry Writing Prompts, from April, and hope you have, or will, as well: National Poetry Month 2010 is Here! Challenge Yourself! Write, Don't Nap and Snooze!

2. Speaking of Poetry, and encouragement to try your hand...Remember this from January,and February? ;-D

3. Back in June I discovered something very cool, 100 Word Story Writing!

I entered a contest, and my story was leading handily by the end of July, but now that particular Poll has been lost in Internet Limbo, so we'll never know by how much I won! ;-D

4. What with Daddy's Bicycle going to pieces a very popular series of ours has been absent far too long!

5. Speaking of the Great Outdoors...There is another popular series that was affected by the mishap with the bike.

A 100 Word Cat Story 3: Independence Day

My name is Precious, I'm a Cat.
I hate the 4th of July, and it's my Gotcha Day!
Ever since I was a kitten, some 15 years ago,
and was brought from the Shelter to my Forever Home,
I have always hidden under the bed all day on the 4th.
It's the fireworks.
The infernal noise terrifies me.
My Humans, and their friends, play with them outside all day, and half the night,
and I am unable to get in one single Nap, or Snooze!
My idea of the perfect Independence Day, would be one of complete, and utter, silence.

A 100 Word Cat Story: Choose

I'm Maximus, a Street Cat.

Mine is a story of choices.

My choice to wander too far away from the litter.

The choice of a Human to take me in.

The choice he made, when well over a year later shelters didn't want me, and I was too frightened to give a damn, to set me free.

As he held me one last time, and then left, I dimly knew I had to choose.

Life, or death.

No more chances.

I wish he could know: I chose life!

It was very hard, but I survived!

That was 7 years ago.

Goblins: A 100 Word Story

I'm Sylvester, a Cat.

I live on the streets.

One sees, and experiences, a lot here.

Your mind can play tricks on you.

For instance, Saturday, passing near a Ballroom, I saw a white creature in some bushes.

Mother always warned us about Goblins, saying they were worse than Coyotes, though she never said what they looked like.

I warily watched the bushes, ready to run if need be.

There was no need.

It  was a Rabbit, and as it dashed across the lawn it looked over its shoulder, in my direction, with a look of terror on its face.

It is unknown whether the Rabbit actually saw a Cat, but if he DID...this COULD have been what happened, from the Feline Perspective. ;-D
