Elvira Mistress of Felinity, here, with the long-awaited reviews of 2 products we received back in mid-February, just in time for my birthday.
We were offered the opportunity to own, test and write a review of, 2 new toys by the PetSafe® Brand:
They created 2 new FroliCat® cat toys, the Multi-Laser and the Fox Den!
In my original post, I shared the email, from a rep at PetPR, Daddy Kiril got and photos of us opening the box they came in, as well as our initial thoughts.
It has been an interesting month of playtime with these toys, to say the least, hee, hee!
A few pics and 2 short videos give you a taste of how things went in the weeks that followed.
The company began in 1991 and has grown into the largest manufacturer of electronic pet training products in the U.S. and their pet products are sold in 52 countries around the world.
Some of the world’s top trainers, veterinarians, and behaviorists are consultants to them as they create new products.
On their About Page is a description of their Core Values and a link to a cool 10 min. video about the company...it features dogs, but don't hold that against them!
You can learn about their product testing process, what it's like to work for them, check out product manuals and customer testimonials and more.
You can even shop online and buy products directly and find links to online retailers who sell more of their products.
Their numerous "learning" pages, about a variety of product types, including toys, are very interesting and informative and link to the products in their store.
They also have a great blog.
Frolicat also has its own website and a page where you can learn a little about each of the toys they offer.
The idea behind automatic toys is to offer us felines something that will engage our attention by providing hours of fun, interactive play using random laser patterns, electronic critter tails, and more.
You can play alone, with your fellow felines, if there are any, in your home, play with your human, or even have your human set some toys to play with you automatically even when they are not home.
How cool is that?
The Multi-Laser and Fox Den, while entirely different in concept and function, offer hours of fun and all three of us enjoy them both...though, if given the chance, both Sneakers the Texian Tuxedo and Friday the Bearded Lady would hog all the play time, they love the toys so much!
When your human finds the toys in a store the boxes will tell them what they have to offer.
This thing is 100 times more challenging and unpredictable than those pointers your human buys on the cheap and holds in their hands, directing the laser direction.
There are 2 lasers that rotate in 360-degree wobbly patterns that your human has no control over.
There is an automatic shut-off after 15 min. and it has a sturdy base so it won't easily tip over, it is battery operated and comes with a manual even your human can easily understand.
The Frolicat Fox Den will keep you from naps and snoozes all day long if you let your human keep it turned on!
This toy is such a tease!
For one thing, there is no Fox...well, not entirely, anyway; just a realistic looking fake Fox tail that is programmed to annoy the hell out of you as you try to catch it when it randomly pokes itself out of its hidey-hole.
There is a motion sensor, an automatic shut-off and a Play All Day Mode.
What is interesting about the all day mode is that it lasts 6 1/2 hrs. and the toy is programmed to behave in a certain way for 3 specific 10 min. periods and also to react for 2 min. if the motion sensor detects movement within 3-4 ft.
Talk about unpredictable and attention grabbing, hee, hee!
It is battery operated and also has an easy to understand manual.
All in all, we highly recommend both toys.
They stimulate the feline mind and exercise the feline body very well indeed!
They each sell for $19.95
NOTE: PetPR is an interesting website and an eye-opener for anyone looking for pet industry info.
Their interesting, resource-filled, website says their mission is to "provide affordable, effective news distribution and editorial support for pet and veterinary businesses, to give our growing industry a central resource to find news and content relevant to their businesses and to distribute industry news to key media contacts who cover our marketplace."
They say that they are "the only news distribution service exclusively serving the pet and veterinary marketplace".
They have become "the leading resource for journalists, bloggers, influencers and other media interested in pet news, trends and expert sources for their stories."
They reach out to "the country’s top pet bloggers, influencers, writers, producers, and industry trade journalists who want to receive pet news, with further specialization when companies need to reach a niche audience."
We are very honored that their rep considers our humble blog a "top pet blog", whatever that means from their side of things.
We are proud of all that we have to offer and have done the past 7 years, and hope to do more of it and newer, different, things, as well, reaching a much wider audience than we currently have.
