Dr. Seuss would have been 113 years old on Thursday, March 2.
Dr. Seuss Day is a fun, creative way to remember the wit and fun of Dr. Seuss!
It is celebrated with funny photos, writing a silly rhyme, and many other ways!
Good evening Felinity Assembled! Elvira Mistress of Felinity here!
The one time I joined in the annual celebration of this great poet, rhymer, and storyteller was in 2012.
So, here you go, my latest effort to channel Dr. Seuss and to encourage creativity in others.
I AM a writer cat.
A writer cat I AM!
Write Poetry, yes I can! Stories, too, yes I can!
Do I nap after I write?
I DO nap, all day long, sometimes, when I want.
How about you? Do you nap before or after you write?
Do you nap anywhere you want in your house?
Do ideas come to you as you watch your human put on their sox?
Do they? DO they? After your human gives your fur a brush?
Come on fellow felines! Let your muse speak through you.
A brain! A brain! A brain! A brain!
Say! Being a creative kitty is such a lark.
Would you, could you, my plea please hark?
Would you, could you, make something to entertain?
Your excuses could you, would you, please not emote?
Would you, could you, in March, share what you wrote?
I do believe in you m fellow critters, I must say.
What can I Say? I LOVE writing despite few real comments and comment spam! I do!
I love to write whenever I can!
I write before and after naps, purring happily over what I wrote.
I do so love to write because I can!
My talents often bring me praise and, make no mistake,
Yours can for you!
I KNOW they can!
Thanks to Ann, of Zoolatry, for the cool, colorful, Seuss Day Badge!
