My human found this link - maybe it's helpful: http://www.ehow.com/how_7624660_glue-cast-iron-together.html

It includes this advice about glue: "Choose a cold-weld type of steel-reinforced epoxy -- commonly known as liquid weld -- for your bonding adhesive. This type of adhesive typically includes two separate tubes: a hardener and a resin. Check the recommended bonding substrates listed on the adhesive and, for the best results, select a product that specifically lists cast iron as a compatible substrate."

Seems you already got some advice. We would also recommend either gorilla glue or those sticky glue tapes they sell at walmart that used to be on teevee. Altho' it be tape pieces, they adhere without seems and act like glue. Mommy used it to tape her car once and even da wind, rain and heat couldn't destroy it.
