Over the past 2 weeks I had the great pleasure to spend just over 20 hours, over 3 days and evenings, with the humans and animals of The Amazing Acro-Cats.
They did me a great kindness by adding a stack of my business cards to the collection of literature they keep on the counters in the waiting/merchandise area and because of that I figured a hello and introduction might be called for to welcome any possible new readers, especially here in Houston and Harris County and from their next stop, Dallas/Ft. Worth.
My name is Kiril Kundurazieff and I am a writer, poet, storyteller, humorist, pundit and more....as are and have been my feline companions.
While I have my own blog, The Mad Macedonian, my felines do most of the writing for this one...I am just their official research assistant, photographer and liaison with the humans in ways they can't be because they are indoor cats.
I may be the only pet blogger in the world who can truthfully say "I broke my ankle chasing pussy... "
My original creative muse was Mr. Nikita, a part Maine Coon that I rescued at a month old, in 1998.
In 2002 I became a blogger and cat blogging became a part of my original blog, with Nikita gradually becoming more a part of things as we discovered fellow cat bloggers in 2004 and I ended my first blog to begin Mad Macedonian in 2008.
I finally came to my senses and gave Mr. Nikita his own blog, this one, to begin January 2010, and the rest is history.
He lived to be 15 years of age and is dearly missed.
A tribute post includes a "Best of" short list, showcasing a few of what I, unashamedly, believe are some of the very best pet themed blogging you will ever find on the internet, as written by Mr. Nikita.
If you want to know Nikita, and how he inspired me, these posts are a good start, and I invite you to explore them at your leisure....
Nikita's protege was Elvira Mistress of Felinity. She is a sassy Tortie who I found on the 2nd floor doorstep of my Santa Ana, Ca. apartment, after midnight one night, when she was about 5 months old. It was July 2010.
The ongoing story Nikita was writing, of Elvira's rescue and integration into the family, won a top prize in the Love Meow Rescue Stories Contest!
The story begins here: Intruder Alert! Daddy's Found a Kitten! Or Vis a Versa, I don't know!
When Nikita decided she was ready she began to contribute to the blog and took on the mantle of "Opinionated Pussycat" upon his passing.
By early November Elvira was quite the sensation, apparently...
According to our stats someone came to this blog from a Qbyrd Websearch, one morning, a search for "The Most Beautiful Pussy in the World" that turned up 162,000 results...
Coming in at 7th Place, in the Web Results, was a post on this blog!
Elvira is more than just a great looking feline, I'll have you know! She is bold, fresh, cuter than a speckled pup, and the most delightful pussycat in the world!
Some of the best writing by Elvira includes:
Wescue Wednesday Preview: Getting Locals Attention Not Easy (Almost 2 yrs. Elvira says she wants to try to revive this idea and THIS one, too - Cats and Houston: What's the History?
There is so much more by the feline that the late, great, Whicky Wuudler The Everycat, in his wisdom, called a " Total Saucepot ", and Rose & The Royals praised for her IMPRESSIVE " Curriculum Vitae "!
Soon after the passing of Nikita, our one cat home became 2 again, as Sneakers walked out of bushes, next to the mailbox station at my apartment. By Thanksgiving 2013 I had made her a permanent part of our lives when no one claimed her or even bothered to look for her. She was just a couple of months old.
Why is she called the "Texian Tuxedo"? Well, not all Texas history is as well known as that little fracas at the Alamo and it's follow-up at San Jacinto, hee, hee (And not everything about the Alamo is known either!)!
A Street in Laredo: A Ballad of the 8th Texian Tuxedo followed by A LIFE ON THE RAILS: Houston Hairy and the Death of the 8th Texian Tuxedo
Miss Sneakers education and integration into our family went well and, soon, she was a contributing member of the blog.
There were now 2 "Opinionated Pussycats" again.
Some of her best posts:
and...9 mo. later... Sneakers Unleashed!

In Sept. 2012 Nikita, Elvira & I moved from SoCal to Houston. In December 2014 Elvira, Sneakers and I moved to a new apartment.
Due to the Texian Tuxedo the move was big news in the community of strays...(A tale mostly told in photos)

We settled in to our new home and then, in Sept. of last year, I was walking down Beechnut, near Wilcrest, when....Look What the Daddy Dragged In! I Was Just Walking, He Says....
We took her in and eventually gave her a name...Friday the Bearded Lady
We soon discovered that she has a little of the "Acro-Cat" in her, hee, hee!
Elvira & Sneakers, having decided her education had progressed quite nicely, decided she was ready for her first blog post to end the year.
As the new year began the young whippersnapper asked for the honor of doing the blog post related to a special event that was coming up...
As we head into the rest of the new year we believe it will be our best year, yet, and I hope this collection of links serves as an entertaining and informative introduction to this blog for those who choose to take the time to explore them and encourages you to explore our Special Pages and archives as well.
