Our story so far....Sneakers and I got our first face to face with the newbie.
Good evening felinity assembled, Elvira, here, and it's been an interesting couple of weeks around here...The little one figured out how to escape the bathroom, all on her own, withing 3 days, showing just how smart she is for one so young.
The 1st 2 days after her arrival Daddy recorded some of our interactions on his cell phone and shared them on his Facebook:
After the escape, at my suggestion, daddy made another such move impossible, hee, hee!
Over the next few days, leading up to the 9/11 vet visit, I watched from a distance as Sneakers got to know the little one, supervised her exploration and reported back to me when she was returned to the bathroom.
She was curious and attentive on the street. on the bus, in Walmart, Petco & Target....
At the vet she was a well behaved young lady as the vet and her helper did what needed to be done:
nails done, fecal sample taken, deworming, a frontline flea bath.
She weighed all of 15oz and it was determined that she was about 4 weeks old so we gave her an official birth date of 8/14/15.
She is healthy, with no physical, or other, issues.
The vet suggested increasing her wet food to a table spoon twice a day and set out dry kitten kibble for her to nibble on when ever she wants.
Plans were tentatively made to come back in a few weeks for her first round of shots and another check-up.
Daddy is glad he's got available funds on his Care Credit card to help with cost.
After the vet visit they went shopping for food (a small bag of Purina One Smart Blend Healthy Kitten and several cans of Friskies of different flavors) a food bowl, more litter and a bigger litter box.
Once home she made a beeline for the new litter box and then had her first taste of dry food.
In our next post, Saturday afternoon...a decision is reached and Sneakers has a chat with the little one:
