Yesterday was day 1 of a challenging creative journey; the Story a Day Challenge (Month long series begins here).
Marian Allen let me know, in a comment to my first effort, that...
"I won't have three words every day. Feel free to use whatever prompt I use, or hit my archives for a prompt (usually at the ends of my posts). I also listed some prompt resources here: http://www.marianallen.com/2013/04/prompts-for-storyadaymay/"
My response was that I will take things day-to-day. We cats are nothing if not adaptable, hee, hee!
Day 2, by Marian, was an amusing little piece, appealing to book lovers, and foodies, in a very twisted way.
I take my words or phrase to include in my own piece, from her story: "Irony was a bitch"
The Queen's Offspring by Nikita Cat
"Irony was a bitch!" joked the shelter staff, in Salisbury, about an orange British Shorthair queen, of indeterminate age, but quite the temper, who appeared one night, soon giving birth. Given the name Irony, all but one of her litter died and, a month later, so did she of an infection.
Her young orange offspring, named Aubrey in honor of nearby Stonehenge, thrived and had a friendly, curious temperament, holding his own among other kittens. One day a mother and 7 year old son came to adopt. The child and Aubrey locked eyes and it was love at first sight.
