When Daddy Kiril first was encouraged to do this, about a week ago, I was enjoying a very nice nap.
I suddenly was awakened by an exclamation, and a kerplunk as daddy fainted dead away. As I read the relevant email Elvira proceeded to provide Feline FLR (Face Licking Resuscitation).
Just kidding about the fainting. :-D
Over the next few days, with our encouragement, the more he thought about this new project, the more confident he could accomplish it he became.
Let me now turn this post over to daddy so he can explain....
Social media, it's everywhere!
It existed, way back in the early 90's, before the term was even coined, and most of the tools now used to participate in it had even been dreamed up.
For a couple of months or so I've been thinking about it, in various ways, as it relates to pet blogging. I was recently encouraged to take my musings in new directions, on Facebook, and with a new blog on WordPress, a blog host I've had almost no experience using.
On Facebook, yesterday, I created, with my co-administrator, my friend Amanda Socci (http://www.creativeideagal.com/), a group that I call Social Media For Critter Bloggers.
It is intended as a place for educating, informing and encouraging pet bloggers about the mysteries of social media; What’s out there and how to use it in various ways, for various purposes.

There is already a question being asked to get things rolling: How do YOU define social media?
I've also posted a Mission Statement for the group.
If you are a critter blogger I invite you to join the discussion with old friends and make new ones as well.
Along the way we will all learn new things.
In a related move I started a new blog today.
I want to share my experiences, thoughts and observations about the mysteries of social media; What’s out there and how to use it to attract readers, connect with fellow pet bloggers, businesses and others, improve one’s writing and website, and even find writing opportunities beyond one’s own blog.

Elvira Mistress of Felinity, face licker extraordinaire that she is, stands at the ready, if her services are needed once again, as I proceed with these efforts.

It sounds like a great -- and really helpful -- group! Please tell Daddy Kiril we got his invite on Facebook, but have not had a chance to join yet. But we will definitely do so! :)
Hugs to you all!
