Welcome to WORLD MEWS REPURRT!
Brought to you by the world class repurrting, and researching team, of yours truly, Nikita Cat, and Elvira Mistress of Felinity, at the Feline News Network (FNN)!
We consider it our mission to bring you the news that possibly no-one but our fellow Felines, and their Humans, could give a fig about!
We aim to point you toward these stories, and sometimes even toss in our 2 cents worth on them as well.
We encourage you to leave your thoughts in the comments, link back to our reports on your own blog, so others can be made aware of the latest news and, if you come across a story you think we might be interested in, alert us via the e-mail in the sidebar.
Tipsters, whose alerts we use, will get credit, with a link to their blog, or website. :-D
This is the first edition for the year 2012, so...
Let's get this show on the road!
1. Let's begin with a celebration, shall we?
Maggy, Zoey, & Mom Ann, better known as The Zoolatry Girls, are known for many things in the Critter Blogging Community, most especially for Ann & her creative talents.
They have been blogging since 2007 and, this morning they proudly celebrated their 2000th Blog entry!
Concatulations, Ladies! We are honored to call you friends, and to be the beneficiaries of the creative talent of Mom Ann, in so many cool ways. :-D
2. Rick Lupert, and Poetry Super Highway, add Meowsings to its Collection of Poetry Websites & Resources!
Like Daddy Kiril, who is also listed, for HIS blog, we write poetry, and stories, and in fact I had the honor of having Daddy read 2 of my poems at The Ugly Mug, last week, with Mr. Lupert in the audience!
Our two archives of our Creative Writing:
Creative Meowsings of a Poetic, and Storytelling, Pussycat
Creative Meowsings: 100 Word Cat Stories
I have tried for years to encourage Felinity Assembled to try its hand at Poetry, so far with little success.
I have also, at the start of the month, issued a 100 Word Cat Story Challenge and, Kitties, there is still time to take it up! :-D
3. We all know that the Old Human's Tale about Black Cats being Bad Luck is pure, um, Litter Box Deposits, but in case more proof is needed....
"Tommaso went from flea-bitten alley cat to "pussy galore" after being rescued by a lonely, old lady."
But considering this is Italy, and the currency the Euro.... :-D
4. Ever hear of Cat-Butt Coffee? Don't laugh!
This stuff, is highly sought after, and mucho expensive!
"Kopi Luwak is the most expensive coffee in the world....it sells for $420 per pound—or $10 for a 10 oz. brewed cup.
Kopi Luwak is very different...This is because each hand-harvested bean of Kopi Luwak has been artisanally shat out of the digestive system of a small Indonesian pseudo-cat ( Imagine if the bastard love child of a ferret and a lemur had babies with a house cat! )."
You can read all about it, and even see a bag of the stuff, at Boing Boing. :-D
5. Via Discover Magazine Online:
"On November 28th Israel’s legislature unanimously passed a bill that outlaws the declawing of cats, except for certain medical reasons, making it a crime punishable by up to one year in prison and a fine of about $20,000 (or 75,000 shekels)."
Learn more, here.
6. Is too much of a good thing bad? Brad Pike, of Thought Catalog, writes a very funny, thought provoking, essay that asks...
How Many Cats is Too Many Cats? :-D
The over 70 comments are just as entertaining as the essay itself. :-D
7. Gretzky, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez's Cat, and star of her annual Christmas card to her constituents, for a decade, died, in 2010, but was ressurrected for one last appearance, last month...but we didn't get a card!
I guess Sanchez discovered Elvira, & I, aren't DemoCats...either that, or the card got lost in the mail. :-D
8. From Ads of the World comes a video of Walmarts...Yodeling Cat? :-D
Elvira has made it clear that she will not be persuaded to try HER paw at this. :-D
9. In other News of the Weird...From Frannie Syufy, at About.com:
"If Ellen cares so deeply for animals, why would she want a species to be denied the food they require by nature to exist? Ellen DeGeneres, and her wife and business partner, Portia de Rossi want to market vegan food for cats."
10. Laurie Fendrich, of The Chronicle of Higher Education Blog called Brainstorm, discusses Cats in general, and the fate of Matilda, the current Cat in Residence at The fabled Algonquin Hotel.

Our heads are puffing-up (and we're already quite full and floofy)~ THANKS for honoring us!
