Here you go, Felinity Assembled, the photos everyone has been waiting for all week long!
Above, you have me, Nikita, posing with Sparkle, at Pussy & Pooch, in downtown Los Angeles, on Wednesday night....
Here, you can see Elvira Mistress of Felinity posing with Sparkle!
Aren't we three just adorable?
Don't those photos just make you want to give each of us a belly r, oh, um, OK, OK, those aren't really any of us Kitties up there, but our Human BFF's, official editorial advisors, research assistants, and photographers, Daddy Kiril Kundurazieff, and Janiss Garza. :-D
Had you going there, for a minute, didn't I? Hee, hee! :-D
Ok, now that I've had my fun, I'm turning this post over to Daddy for the story he has to tell....
Hello, Felinity Assembled, Daddy Kiril, here, and Wednesday was a wonderful evening spent meeting, and supporting, a friend, and fellow Cat lover, as she held a book signing for her 2nd book.
As described here there were supposed to be 2 other guests but they apparently didn't make an appearance.
P & P was celebrating winning several awards, and everyone was in a great mood.
I took 4 busses, and a Metro Train, to get from Santa Ana, to LA, and while I put my ankle thru a busy day ( I went to a couple of places, earlier in the day, including an early dinner at historic Philippe's The Original ) I ended up tired but very, very, happy. :-D
When I arrived, 15 minutes early, I sat in the chair for Janiss, keeping her spot warm until she arrived, as I rested a bit.
But it wasn't long before I hobbled around by the Cat merchandise in order to meet the newest addition to the staff, Harper.
Harper is a 4 month old found on the street by his new Human, Brandon, and the little one has made itself at home, and is very friendly, as you will see in a series of pics with Janiss & I. :-D
As I waited I also chatted with a new Human employee, just a couple days on staff, a very nice young lady who should fit right in.
When Janiss arrived she approached me, and we smiled, shook hands, and introduced ourselves...
She said "Hello Nikita"
I did my best female voice impersonation, and said "Hello! I'm Elvira Mistress of Felinity, Nikita couldn't make it." :-D
And everyone laughed. :-D
We then went over to her chair, & table, where she had set a box of books, and continued to chat.
While Harper manned the cash register, making sure all the Dogs that brought their Humans shopping got prompt, and friendly, service, Janiss made herself at home, and chatted with customers, owners, and staff, as did I.
Not many Cats showed up with their Humans, but there were more than a few hefty Bulldogs, and other Canine Breeds.
None of the Cats were fazed in the least, walking around with, or without harness, & leash, or camping out on the heights of some Human shoulder where they had a great view. :-D
Another staff Cat, Minx, age 15, took in everything from under various shelves for the most part, apparently deciding to leave closer encounters to others.
There were free drinks, and healthy fruit, and brownie, treats, for us Humans, and even the juice drinks could be, um, spiced up, just a tad. :-D
It was very interesting to talk with Janiss about our various blogging efforts, and the books on which she, & Sparkle, collaborated on.
It is a lot of work to write a book, and get it published, and then to do the heavy lifting of promoting it at events such as this, and Janiss seems to find the whole process interesting, and a challenge, and enjoys meeting Sparkle's public.
Sena, Age 10, was a very curious Kitty customer. On a leash, and harness, she made her way around the store as if she owned the place! :-D
Meeting, and greeting, and exploring, to her hearts content, she was a very friendly Feline.
Sena was brought in by her Human on a cart-like contraption with an open crate filled with blankets that she sat in as the human walked down the street.
Many of the customers, Feline, and Canine, live, with their Humans, in the new residental lofts that have cropped up in the downtown core in recent years and, as I walked around downtown I kept seeing a lot of Dogs, of various breeds, large, and small, walking their Humans, and busily checking their, um, Pee Mail, at seemingly every tree, post, and hydrant in town. :-D
I didn't see any Stroller Kitties, the closest being Sena, and her unique conveyance, and never have in previous visits to the city.
The few Felines that came in the store knew exactly what they wanted, and their Humans made the purchases for them.
One person bought 7, or so, of the cardboard Scratcher Lounges that Elvira has 2 of, and enjoys.
Little Tranny Cat, age 1, was very curious, so much so that she was ready to climb into things.
Torties, I swear! :-D
I've thought about introducing Elvira to a leash & harness, and seeing another Tortie using one, and liking it, is encouraging.
Elvira is not so sure. :-D
While Janiss sold only a handful of Sparkle's books she met some people who had never heard of Sparkle, and made some new fans.
I even had a hand in selling one lady on buying a book. :-D
She took a bookmarker and, as she walked away, I passed her a copy of Nikita's reviews of Sparkle Book 1, with a Meowsings Flier, and told her that my Nikita felt the first book was just as good as the 2nd.
She immediately went & bought the book! :-D
Like Janiss I met some people who, upon seeing the badge on my shirt, which had pics of Nikita & Elvira, identifying not just the blog, but their Feline News Network, Nikita Institute of Feline Studies, and the fact they both are Cat Blogosphere Repurrters, and "The Most Opinionated Pussycats in America!", were curious enough to take copies of his review, & flier home.
When I first greeted Janiss I presented her with an envelope that held an Autographed/Pawtographed, copy of the review Nikita wrote of Sparkle Book 1.
When the evening was over, and we were preparing to head home, Janiss presented me with Pawtographs, from Sparkle, to Nikita, and to Elvira.
All in all it was a wonderful evening. :-D

My human says she enjoyed meeting your human and loved getting the pawtographed review!
I told her that she needs to do more of these events!

What a thoroughly wonderful report!
I'm glad everything went well for Janiss and Sparkle.
Your article was well-written and had a lot of pictures which helped make me feel as if I went, too!
Being in the northeast, it would have been quite the trip!
Yes, it is a lot of work to get a book published and promoted, but with the right teamwork, everybody comes out purring!
Tom (corny as ever)
xoxo
