As Cokie explains...
"A one-night only celebrity concert event, "CATS for Cats," will help raise funds for a wonderful local Los Angeles animal rescue, Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats.
This grassroots organization rescues, socializes and places feral kittens, and helps ferals that are too set in their ways to adapt to indoor homes with their TNR Trap/Neuter/Release program, focusing on the underserved area of South Los Angeles.
Proceeds from this production will enable Kitty Bungalow move into a larger, permanent facility, providing more outreach and services.
This very cool event features a totally new version of CATS, starring James Cromwell, Fred Willard and a host of film and television celebrity performers.
We will have beautiful artwork and other items on display, which will be randomly given away as prizes with $50 adoptions of Build A Bear stuffed cats. You can also purchase a ticket to the After Party, which will feature an open bar and dessert buffet.
The performance takes place on Saturday, August 6th, 2011, at 8pm at the gorgeous downtown Orpheum Theatre.
If you would like to attend you can learn more, & order tickets here ( Use Promo Code ANIMALS and save! )."
Cokie has a great post with more details, here!
Now, here's where things get interesting!
Daddy had not planned to attend, but when he came home from the Meow Mingle, the other night, there was an invite from a representative of Hartz, an event sponsor, to him, of a ticket for the show, AND a Red Carpet Ticket as well.
"We are inviting several influential Cat Bloggers from the Los Angeles area to attend the event and feel that you fit the bill perfectly!
We thought it might be something you’d like to attend, then blog about, or even live tweet from the red carpet or the show!"
Us considered "Influential" ???
We hope to be in such rarified company someday. :-D
How very cool is that?
How they learned of Meowsings we do not know, but Daddy wrote back that he would be very honored to accept the tickets, and represent us at this event. :-D
Other Feline, and Critter, Bloggers, from SoCal, will also be in attendance, as Cokie has mentioned, and so this will be a very cool evening.
Daddy hopes to see your Human there!
