Wednesday Elvira thought I was BSing her, tonite she is in awe of the story I am about to share, and can't stop looking at the photos. ;-D
Young Kitties, let this be a lesson to you: Sometimes your elders DO have Grand Adventures. ;-D
We left the house at 1230PM, Wednesday afternoon, and thought we'd be home by 5pm, a time we both agreed I could handle, since I'd already done 3 hour tours.
We got home at 730pm, and therein lies a tale. ;-D
Pull up a chair, this is gonna take a while, and cover several posts.
Readers of this blog, who have spent any amount of time exploring my sidebar know that the Boutique Pet Store, Pussy and Pooch, of LA, and Belmont Shore, are favorites of ours.
Since he got me the Stroller, in March, he's been promising the Belmont store that he'd see if he could find a way to bring me in for a visit.
Once we learned that Orange County Transit allowed Pet Strollers on busses, recently, we knew the time had finally come.
Once we got to the store, only expecting to spend 20 minutes, we found something quite unexpected. The employees remembered Daddy from his last visit in the Summer, and the owner was there, and she knew who we were because she remembered the e-mail Daddy had recently sent her inquiring about when they planned Kitty Mingles, to match their popular Dog Events, and had planned to reply. At their insistence that it was perfectly fine, if Daddy thought I wouldn't freak out, for me to get out of the Stroller, and explore my new surroundings, he unzipped the back flap. We rode 2 OCTA busses to Long Beach,, and 1 Long Beach bus to Belmont Shore, and along the way I was the focus of the attention, and curiosity, of several passengers, and so Daddy passed out my flier, and did a lot of talking.
There was so much to see that I hardly knew where to begin! From the moment we entered the place my whiskers were twitching, and my ears perkerd up, and my tail was raised, in great curiosity at all the different sites, and smells, that confronted me.
Janene Zakrajsek, Petreprenuer, and owner, of the popular, budding chain, encouraged Daddy to let me case the joint, and so I set out to do just that!
I took a look at the shelves of Premium, Natural & Organic, Cat foods from brands not familiar to us even from the big chain stores, the shelves of collars, leashes, and toys, from feather toys, balls, and Catnip toys, to things I'd never dreamed of, some a bit pricy, but all sure to pique any discerning Cats curiosity.
Then I saw the Pet beds, pet blankets, and Cat Towers, and immediatey made for some shelves on the other side of the room, past some of the cool looking, to Dogs I'm sure, Doggie Stuff.
Meanwhile, Daddy chatted with Janene, as they all kept an eye on my activity.
As the website says these stores are quite the experiece, for Human, and animal.
"Bouncy toys, tantalizing treats, stylish pet fashion and accessories for sassy bitches and hipster hounds, plus visually aesthetic modern pet furniture are just some of the fun indulgences Pussy & Pooch has to offer. From organic grooming and spa products, to stylish beds and carriers for your pooch or pussycat, P&P truly has something for everyone! Come discover what the Pethouse has in store for you!"
I was immediately attracted to a certain, expensive, 5 piece set of furniture, and spent a lot of comfortable, safe place, alone time, on this shelf high off the floor, surveying my surroundings, especially when more Humans came, brought shopping by their Dogs. ;-D
I may have arthritis, but I can still climb when the curiosity demands it!
Janene tempted me out, and back onto the floor, with a feather toy.
I forgot to mention that, when we arrived we were not only greeted by the Humans, but also by Marley.
Marley is a 3 year old Pappilon, Chihuahua Mix, who is the official Supplement SpokesDog.
Marley is a very excitable, and chatty, sort, given to contantly wagging the tail in your face, while running in circles, if you are standing close by.
We'd show a picture to illustrate that, but it was just too blurry. ;-D
As readers know, I've been close to other Dogs, while on a Stroll, but always from the safety of my Stroller.
This time we could shake paws, and sniff each others butts, if so inclined!
I'm not into the whole Inter-species Butt Sniffing Scene, since I've never been out where I could indulge if so inclined, and Marley didn't seem to be either.
We didn't talk to each other only because I was too intent on exploring, and Marley kept telling the Humans there was Cat in the building, which they already knew, obviously, silly Mutt. ;-D
I went and hid near a trash can, at one point, and not even the offer of a Catnip Toy could tempt me out!
Oh, and before I forget!
The Cool Condo above?
It's a 5 piece set, on the market since 2008, and retailing for over $200.
It's from Otis and Claude. They are stackable cubes that are covered in cotton fabric, and come in two color combos: WARM – black, white, orange, pink and yellow, and COOL – brown, white, green, blue and beige. Your Human can stack them however you like, and all the cubes nest in one another for easy storage.
Daddy, and I, like it for several reasons: Stackability allows for not just a tall tower, but could be used single, or in stacks of 2, to place next to places I'd normally jump up, and down coming, and going, thus saving wear, and tear on my arthritic joints, and it's made of material that Elvira won't want to eat. ;-D
I was so at home in the thing that any thought of hopping back into my Pussycat Purrrrambulator, my Feline Utility Vehicle (FUV), had completely slipped my mind. ;-D
Alas, it will be a while before Daddy will be able to afford getting even 1 set, being unemployed, and all.
Proceed to Stroll #8: Networking in Long Beach - Part 2

Wow!
That kitty condo DOES look like fun!
Tabby says: Aren't pet shops great?! The one we go to has a doggie, too, and we like to play together!

Pet shops are interesting places, the more so if I can get out of the Stroller, and safely explore them. ;-D
