Sometimes someone in the Mainstream Human Media says something really, well, let's just call it "Ill Informed", to be nice. ;-D
This time it just happened to be from what they call the Liberal side of the microphone.
National Public Radio President Vivian Schiller, who made headlines, recently, for firing news analyst Juan Williams, a Fox News contributor, told an audience Sunday that NPR's viewers Cats are a league apart from those of other media organizations -- a hypothesis proven by its comments section on the network's website.
My politics, like those of Daddy, being a tad different that those found at NPR, I take great exception to her statements!
Schiller, who was speaking at St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C., said the comments section of most media websites are "full of it", and "frequently off topic, to boot!"
But NPR's commentors - and, she infers, their Cats - are "intelligent and informed."
According to the Daily Caller, which first reported the discussion, Schiller referred to the Cats of NPR's audience as more intelligent than those whose Humans listen to, watch, or read other media.
A spokeswoman for NPR who was not present at Sunday's event confirmed Schiller's quotes to Feline News Network, but said a colleague who attended the event maintains that Schiller characterized the Cats of NPR's audience as "intelligent and informed," rather than "more intelligent" than those of other audiences.
"There are certain things that they do not handle very well. ... In fact, there were certain things they handle very badly," she is quoted saying.
"If defunding to public broadcasting were to occur, it would be devastating to the intelligence level of the Cats of our listeners".
Schiller added. "That's a fact."
Oh, REALLY???
Let me be the first to call her out on her "Facts"!
Details, woman!
Show me the Kibble! ;-D

****UPDATE - 630PM 11/9/10****
I awoke Daddy to feed me & Elvira, this morning, as usual, when he interrrupted my breakfast to tell me I got an e-mail from someone, and it was very, very, cool!
That is one of the few reasons I'd even consider interrupting the "Most Important Meal of the Day", let me tell you. ;-D
So here it is:
Nikita,
Found it pretty amusing...Thanks!
Matthew Boyle
Reporter: The Daily Caller
Wow!
Very cool, indeed!
Of course I have sent him a Thank You Note:
Dear Mr. Boyle
I am honored that one such as you would find something I have reported on amusing.
Thank you so much!
Such a compliment will serve as encouragement to continue to strive to present the best reporting, and journalism, and other stuff I write, and the best Blog I can, for my small, but growing, audience in my little corner of the Blogosphere.
Sincerely yours,
Nikita Cat
I have asked Daddy to add Mr. Boyle to the list of those Praising the Pussycat, in the sidebar, while I will now go finish breakfast, and take the first Snooze of the day. ;-D
****END NOTE****

For a Cat, of any stripe, not to be intelligent, and informed, is like having no soul. ;-D
