EXCERPT FROM LEAVES OF CATNIP by WALT WHITPUSS
I wonder I even live with Humans,
they are so exciteable and unrestrained,
I lay and look at them all day long.
They work up a sweat and whine about their
condition,
They stay awake all night committing
all manner of sin,
They make me sick discussing the fun they had
with the Dog at the park,
Not one is satisfied, not one is contented
with the joy of living with just a Cat,
Not one Kneels to me, nor to others of my kind that
have been part of their lives since millenia ago,
Not one respects or is happy around us
over the whole earth.
Hat Tip, for the inspiration, to the Author, and Poet, Mary Oliver, who quotes from Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman (Original is here, just scroll down to #32), on page 70 of her book A Poetry Handbook. ;-D
