Almost a month ago the education of Elvira began...(Part 1) A lot has happened since then, and she has learned so much, not just your typical Cat Stuff, but those things that will eventually help her communicate with Daddy not just in Felinese, but in English, as well. And you know what that will mean...She will begin to make her mark, with the written word, in the Cat Blogging Community, as my apprentice, learning the Blogging ropes, and more. At 6 months old she is the equivalent of an 8 year old Human (Except with regards to that need for a recent HooHawEctomy, um, hee, hee!), and her education will progress thru the end of her first year as she heads confidently towards her "Sweet 16" Birthday Party next February (She will be 1 Cat year old!). Above is the first glimpse of her "Hitting the Books", from early this morning. ;-D Daddy has yet to get a good picture of her at the computer, either in his chair, or on the desk itself, as she dashes off in embarrassment at being caught at her studies by him. ;-D I began to learn what I am teaching her at about the same age, the big difference being that, in that Summer of 1998, when I was also 5, and 6, months old, Daddy had just bought his first computer, and we spent the Summer, and Fall, learning about the computer, and entering the Online Community, together. School Days, School Days - Miss Elvira Hits the Books! Nothing to do, Elvira dear And you are quite bashful, right now, I know Original Song Lyrics written in 1907 by Will Cobb and Gus Edwards, and turned into a hit by Byron G. Harlan that same year ( Listen! ).
Nothing to do you say
Let's find some knowledge, your mind to equip
During these last summer days
Prowl thru some books in our apartment house
Anchor yourself to our impromtu school floor
Just you wait and see, I'll teach you, and you'll learn from me
So much stuff your little brain will be sore.
School days, school days
Dear old golden rule days
Readin' and 'ritin' and 'rithmetic
There is so much to learn it will make you sick
You are my little Queen Tortie
I'm an Old Kitty who will help you to grow
And the first words you wrote were, "I love you, and Daddy"
But this we already know.
'Member your first night here, Elvira dear
And the fear that creased your brow
You've gained such confidence for us it's a thrill
And your old life is in the past now.
'Member the first 2 weeks, and the times that we had
So fun to get acquainted, the things that we did still amaze
New food, toys, and litter boxes
You've learned about over all these days.
School days, school days
Dear old golden rule days
Bloggin', and 'e-mailin', and ''Computin,
Taught in a way that you are picking up quick
You are a Litle Miss
But soon, very soon, you will blog your first, "Hello"
Because you are a very smart kid.
IN HUMBLE TRIBUTE:

There's so much to learn in such a short 8 years worth of life, isn't there, Elvira? ;-D

Honestly, I feel your pain!
Educating kittens is a nightmare, but at least she's starting to learn.
Any chance you could give me tips?
I'm trying to do the same thing, although this kitten lives in a different place than me, so I'm doing it from a distance.
He's not learning though.
He still hasn't even got the fundamental that people are stupid, and don't know what's best for us!
If you click on the link, in my name, it should show you my blog, and I'd appreciate any help you can give a very frustrated me!
In the meantime though, keep up the good work!
